Black Bean Pasta with Black Sesame Paste

I take no credit for coming up with this, that goes to the amazing chef and author of my favorite new cook book – The Vibrant Table. Do yourself and everyone in your life a fave and buy/try the recipes – ridiculously good and COLORFUL. So much yum!

Inspiration for this recipe comes from a training/class I am taking called Elemental Wisdom Immersion, a blend of advanced herbal training, elemental/anscestral wisdom teachings, TCM 5 element theory, energy medicine, and then IMMERSING myself in the learnings from each class in my every day life – cooking, dancing, making medicines with plants, etc. Super inspiring! Incorporating healing with cooking into my life is quite profound. And DUH! Food is medicine! I just recently heard someone say, “We should have never gotten to the point that food is not medicine.” Some wise ish. Going off topic, but it’s that kinda day y’all. Back to black bean pasta!

I won’t share the recipe here as it’s already in the cook book, but if you haven’t tried black bean pasta, it’s awesome! Sold at grocerry stores in the pasta aisle. Only ingredients: black beans, water. If you are wheat intolerant like I, that’s pretty bomb.

Did I mention most black colored foods are nourishing to your Kidneys, and winter is a great time to feed this powerhouse of an organ system?  More foods that are great for the season: parsley, seaweed, black sesame seeds, black beans, goji berries (best when cooked), and more!

Happy cooking amazing humans!

yep, those are toasted walnuts, sour cherry syrup, and black toasted sesame seeds on top. That green in the pasta? Dandelion greens. Nomnomnom.
